Budds Creek, Maryland, offered an appropriate backdrop for the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross Championship finale, an event that Triumph Factory Racing tackled with its two active riders. Jordon Smith and Austin Forkner completed their respective seasons on an eventful day of on-track action.

Smith's first moto was typical of his entire season; he showed tremendous speed through the race and moved forward in the latter stages to claw his way into ninth. The second moto – the last of this season – kicked off with the #19 in a similar position, but an unfortunate issue prompted a premature end to his day. With the 13 points that he scored, he landed in fifteenth overall and secured ninth in the final 250MX championship standings.

Forkner, who has earnt a reputation for his late charges this term, climbed up from 18th to 14th in his first moto. A crash in the first corner of moto two meant that he had to make more passes than ever before. A staggered restart, prompted by an injured rider, brought him closer to the pack. Capitalizing, he made 21 passes and crossed the finish line in 19th. A 14-19 scorecard put him in sixteenth overall. Forkner was ultimately rewarded with 17th in the overall championship standings.

With 2025 Pro Motocross complete, attention now turns to the SMX World Championship postseason. Races in Charlotte, St. Louis, and Las Vegas will end the American race season.

Jordon Smith

"A decent day at Budds Creek! We made some progress with the TF 250-X yet again. My first moto was solid; I worked my way to ninth. I had a small issue in moto two, unfortunately, but I am happy to be healthy as we head into the SMX postseason."

Austin Forkner

"It was not a great day, but it was not terrible either. I am happy to complete the season. I could not find a flow as the track broke down, but we learned a lot with the bike. It was a chaotic day of racing, to be honest, with two red flags and a crash in turn one. Being healthy as we enter the postseason is a win."

Jeremy Coker – General Manager, Triumph Racing America

"It was not the exact way we wanted to end the motocross season! The guys had good days going. We were making very good progress on the bike throughout the day, which was very promising for us. The guys were solid in the first moto. Unfortunately, moto two started off with a first turn crash for Austin and that put him in the back. Jordon was in a good position prior to the red flag but had an unfortunate bike issue shortly after that – it forced him to retire. Austin made his way from 40th into the top 20 in the end. The team is now switching focus to the SMX postseason. We intend to come out where we belong."
